Spider-Man: No Way Home, one of the anticipated films of the year, is finally set for release on Friday.
For fans waiting with bated breath for the next instalment in the franchise, it has all the ingredients: a Marvel multiverse, the return of Tom Holland and Zendaya as Peter Parker and MJ, and quashed rumours of reprisals by original Spider-Man actors. But buzz always comes with the potential for spoilers online, with some fans threatening to delete their Twitter accounts to avoid any plot information about the movie.
"Deleting Twitter" is trending on Twitter (ironically), and it's all coming from people hoping to see No Way Homewithout having seen spoilers.
The idea of spoilers and Spider-Manactually go hand-in-hand, thanks to its leading man. Holland is known for (pretty adorably) giving away prized information, resulting in talk show hosts constantly teasing the star, and his publicity team probably giving him hours of prep to retain the movie's secrets.

Even distributor Sony Pictures took to the social media platform to urge, "NO SPOILERS. 🚫 Don’t be that person. If you want to be extra safe, stop reading comments, mute keywords, and start staying off social media today!"

The tweet is accompanied by a fun video featuring the cast, including Jamie Foxx and Jacob Batalon, with each requesting that people are respectful about spoilers, including on social media, after the release.
Their instructions were apparently taken very seriously. People are claiming they're deleting their accounts (whether they're going to really do it or not), those who remain are saying they're muting phrases, and it generally seems like a good time for a social media break for Spider-Manfans.

You've got to appreciate the commitment — and if you want to delete Twitter, here's how. For the rest of us unable to resist the pull of social media, let's just hope no major spoilers are coming our way.
