Facebook employees will be allowed to work from home for nearly one more year due to the coronavirus outbreak, Reuters reported Friday.
A company spokeswoman said Facebook will also give employees $1,000 for home office needs.
"Based on guidance from health and government experts, as well as decisions drawn from our internal discussions about these matters, we are allowing employees to continue voluntarily working from home until July 2021," the spokeswoman said in a statement.
Facebook will continue re-opening its offices based on government guidance permits, and in places where virus mitigation has taken place for two months, but many of its offices in the U.S. and Latin America will likely remain closed this year.

Twitter and Slack both made working from home a permanent option for some of their employees. In a May livestream, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned the possibility of granting some of its employees the ability to work from home permanently.
